Abstract:
The use of computer can cause the user pain and discomfort. Several body parts like the wrists, neck, back and eyes can feel pain and discomfort when using computer. Several ways of preventing pain and discomfort is enumerated in the article. Changing background color of the computer can reduce eyes strain. Changing mouse, placing the keyboard in the position and practising touch typing can prevent strain in the wrist and hands. Pain in the back can be address by having the right height for the chair, having a backrest, and observing straight and proper sitting position.
What I have learned?
1. I have learned that there are several factors that cause pain and discomfort in using computer.
2. I have learned that we should follow the proper sitting position while using the computer.
3. I have learned that we should not spend all out time in front of the computer monitor.
Implication:
The use of computer is a common thing nowadays. The risk of experiencing pain and discomfort is a possibility. This is true not only in the office but also in the computer stations that we have in the library. I think that we should also consider the comfort that our library users are experiencing. Library users can be persuade to continuously use the library if they fell that they have a place that they can stay comfortably.
